Before deciding to rent a room from WOKO, you should consider the following:
- Life in an apartment shared with a group of tenants demands tolerance and consideration for others. The lifestyles, behaviour and cooking habits of fellow tenants can be very different. This presents a challenge if everyone is to live together in harmony. On the other hand, it also provides the opportunity to meet new people and get to know different cultures.
- Being organised. Generally speaking, tenants are responsible for cleaning their own rooms, as well as the kitchen, bathroom, WC and other rooms that are jointly used. Each individual tenant must participate in the general housework and disposal of refuse. Twice a year, during the Semester Cleaning, all tenants have to clean the common areas together. The cleaning will be examined by WOKO.
- WOKO properties are not halls of residence. Although professional caretaking is provided in the larger properties, there is neither a concierge nor a warden. Any problems concerning cleanliness and living together are resolved autonomously by the tenant group among themselves.
