Our Partners

WOKO is a non-profit housing cooperative.

Our goal has remained the same since 1956: We create affordable living space for students in and around Zurich. To achieve this, we rely on cooperation with third parties. This is because WOKO's properties are owned by companies and organizations that own suitable properties but would like to place the management and letting in the hands of a specialized and experienced organization.

Partner organizations

WOKO co-founded the Foundation for Student Housing (SSWZ) in 1987. It acquires, builds and renovates properties with living space for students. WOKO manages the SSWZ properties. It also rents out houses belonging to the Winterthur Student Housing Foundation (SWOWI). In addition, over 30 other property owners make suitable properties available to WOKO. In addition to the public sector, these include institutional investors, building cooperatives and private individuals.

WOKO works closely with the universities in and around Zurich: without the WOKO rooms, many talented students would not be able to complete their studies in Zurich.

Supporting student housing projects

Student numbers are rising – housing is in short supply. Additional living space for young people in education is urgently needed to make Zurich attractive as a location for education and business. We are therefore always on the lookout for suitable properties for young people.

WOKO is recognized as a non-profit organization. We do not receive any state subsidies and are not profit-oriented. You can support student housing projects with a donation to our fund for student housing projects.
